Elaine- yes our two chickies lay different colored eggs...I then let the egg shells dry out a bit (hence the photo) and then crumble them up for the chickies to eat...cannabalism I know- but they are related to dinosaurs you know....
My cousins raised Banties. As they were pets I never thought of eating their eggs.
Yeah, Kathe, I saw on TV that the chicken is the animal alive today nearest relative to the dinosaurs. We fed our chickens oyster shells. I'd hate to have turned them towards cannabalism. .. BTW, I did a locator check and they don't sell Adams around here. ..
Great post and lvoe the picture! It is so cool! But all of your pictures are.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
I'd love to have fresh eggs. Great picture!

I LOVE chickens!!! I used to have 2 back in the day! They make fun pets too :o)
ReplyDeleteMy grandma actually made leg warmers for my first chicken I ever had. That was back in 1983. My chicken was soooo rockin' those leg warmers!! LOL
YOU are so right on this!

ReplyDeleteWe have 6 chooks and its true that once you've had home grown eggs it's hard to go back.
ReplyDeleteNice pic
I'll consider it a success if I can keep our herbs alive (just planted this morning). I can't even imagine chickens and fresh eggs. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing 6WS!
I didn't know you could grow eggs... when do you plant the seeds? Do they need lots of water? Do they grow well in the shade?
