  3. The summer has passed, and store bought tomatoes from faraway are where we were heading now (alas). The plants need to be pulled from their pots in our yard - next year fresh bruschetta again!

  5. Seems like it was a productive garden though if you got things in the freezer to enjoy over the winter months until you can grow again next year!

just stopped by from 6WS; enjoy the weekend!

  8. We don't have to wrap up our plants because we don't really have any cold winters over in Houston. Wish we could get some snow. : )

  9. Good thoughts, Kathe! Great picture!

I didn't grow anything that needs wrapped up this year! Or any other year!
Our dogs do get wrapped up in the really cold, if it gets down in the teens and twenties here in the Houston area.

  10. Draining and rolling the hoses before winter sets in is one of those bittersweet (for me, at least) chores. It signals the end of the growing season...

  11. It's sad when the last of the tomatoes are gone. I'd rather do without than buy store-bought. Well, at least until I can't stand not having them at all. ;)

  12. I should probably do a bit of winter-prep this week as well. There's not much to be done but hoses need to be brought in and a few plants trimmed back.

    Thanks for playing 6WS!

  13. Yes, we pulled our tomatoes out last weekend. It was a sad day for me. :) I did make lots of salsa, so that will have to compensate for not haveing my tomatoes.

  15. Yes, the gardens have shared their bounty and now are gone. I will so miss those fresh tomatoes. They are my favorite. But, we will enjoy all the canned and frozen treats through the winter.
Your photo is nice. A weary water hose put away to rest until needed again.
