Fun Saturday nights at Al Amirs

While visiting in Portland we had
to have dinner at Al Amir's.
Excellent Lebanese cuisine
and entertaining belly dancing.

Spring has sprung!!!
Yesterday we drove up north to visit friends
and family. We are staying with our good friends and next door neighbors.
So it was kind of odd to be staying next to our old home.
The new owners have already made changes to the landscape,
but the one thing that never changes up here is how
unbelieveably beautiful spring is with blossoms everywhere!

Timber!
Russell and one of our neighbors
took out the Oak tree that was growing
next to our bedroom balcony.
We begin the construction on our addition
to the house next week and the tree would
have been in the way. It was not a large
tree but the root system would have impacted
the foundation. This removal also enables Lucy
to be able to go outside without getting into trouble!
We will be adding a main floor master bedroom and bath
which will make the house more usable for us and
will make it more marketable for the future.
(no- we are NOT moving anytime soon!)

Weed barrier is down and I used pieces
of removed decking in addition to metal staples
to hold it down because of the winds we have.

Here is a closeup of my little coldframes.
I planted edible peapod seeds, spinach and lettuce.
Hopefully they sprout- I'll know in about 10 days!

The burn pile grows....and glows
Meanwhile in the background you can see our deer fenced
veggie garden. Yesterday I put weed barrier down
and constructed two small coldframes.
Today I will plant spinach, pea and lettuce seeds.
Hopefully they will sprout!
The burn pile is from the de-constructed deck
in preparation for our remodel project.

Sun shining on the hummingbird feeder
We still have snow on the ground, but lots more sunshine
than where we used to live in Oregon.
It's uplifting to live here.

I see the moon
The moon sees me
The moon sees somebody
I'd like to see
God bless the moon
And God bless me
And God bless somebody I'd like to see

One of my dear blogger friends shared this cute ditty
with me-so now I am sharing it with you!
Happy Easter!
