I've often wondered why tennis shoes are dangling from overhead wires. I've seen it done once as a cruel prank. But sometimes there are lots of shoes thrown up in trees, making them a 'shoe tree' of sorts.

My Mother never wore tennis shoes....but maybe she does now....
