The creative act lasts but a brief moment, a lightning instant of give-and-take, just long enough for you to level the camera and to trap the fleeting prey in your little box.

Beginning of Elkhorn Criterion Bicycle Races

The weather interfered with some of the races.

After two injuries this race was stopped.

Later on the rain stopped and the rest of the

criterion races were completed.

Tom's helicopter flew into the air
but only for a brief moment
Then CRASH! into a tree,
BASH! onto the roof
and BAM! it hit the dirt
No hands could save it......
Unread directions fluttered in the breeze......
Too bad they were written only in Chinese.........

Once again we head 300 miles east to Baker City Oregon.
We are here to visit friends and watch
the Elkhorn Stage Bicycle Races.
We stopped in La Grande for lunch at Mt Emily Ale House.
Russell had a Buffalo Burger and I had Thai Chicken Salad.
We both had the Hells Canyon IPA.
and here's Josie- the nicest and friendliest person
behind the taps this side of the Cascades!

Some politicians need more help than others...
There's a local politician here in our little city that
cannot string an intelligible sentence together
without help from a script written or
prompts from the city lawyer. Just plain pitiful.

Short Term Gallery Cat in Baker City
We are in Baker City this weekend to visit our good friends
Tom and Sarah and for First Friday Gallery openings.
I am the featured artist this month and next at the
artists co-operative Short Term gallery! I have 30 of my
Snap a Day photos in the exhibit. It's great to see them altogether.
Below is a photo of Tom and Sarah in front of my photographs.
Above is the ceramic cat the Tom made for the window ledge
above the gallery.

There are a lot of old buildings in Baker City

a definite list to the left.

Multnomah Falls
We drove 300 some miles to Baker City on Hwy 84.
This is the first of many photos I took this weekend.
Note the small bridge at the bottom of the photo- it
really isn't small. That's how big the falls are.
