The creative act lasts but a brief moment, a lightning instant of give-and-take, just long enough for you to level the camera and to trap the fleeting prey in your little box.

Photo #20 2012

Our Welcome Bear is ready to move ....
More than 10 years ago we drove to southern California
with Grace to help her move into her dorm at
Cal State Northridge. On our way back we stopped
in the Redwoods and found this wonderful chainsaw bear.
He took up the entire back of our rental SUV!
Now we are moving to Northern California
not far from where we found him.

Jane-
He is a lovely bear- for years I kept telling Russell "We really need a chainsaw bear for the front of the house..." Finally we found just the right one! We also were given a little Redwood seedling tree- we planted it in the backyard and it is now 30 feet tall and thriving! I will miss watching that tree grow.
By the way- I like your new photo banner-I am assuming it's your garden waiting for spring?

I like your bear, Kathe! :) For shure he is a good greater and conversation starter.

Here is hoping that the movers will take good care of him or does he fit in the back of your car this time again?
