The creative act lasts but a brief moment, a lightning instant of give-and-take, just long enough for you to level the camera and to trap the fleeting prey in your little box.

Yet another baby quilt-
Different from most baby quilts-
I chose to use a variety of Scottish tartans
from different clans as this baby is of
Scottish descent. The outside border is
the Stewart Hunting tartan and on the
back is the Royal Stewart Tartan.
All very grand for little Abigail Ramey Jones.
She lives only a few miles from where her
Great-great-great-great-great Grandfather was
kidnapped by the Delaware Indians and was not returned
to his family for more than 10 years.
Luckily he was returned as otherwise there
would not be all these splendid Joneses.

Below is a photo of the quilt backing.
The white patch is a pocket that I always
sew onto the back of the quilts.
It has a personal message from me on it and
the pocket is nice for little hands to hide treasures.

Whoops-there goes the neighborhood!
Our wonderful next-door neighbors are moving....
not far, but we'll miss having them right next door..
Especially their adorable cat Lucky.
Of course, Lucy is clapping her paws because they don't get along...

As we left to go home-Mt Shasta was showing off...

The Christmas Season is here.....

We went to Mt Shasta the day after Thanksgiving.

The main street was closed for the annual Christmas Kick-off.

All the stores were decked out and Santa made an appearance.

Happy Holidays!

A stop watch
could measure
how long
it takes
for the disppearence
of our chairs...
poof!

*********We peridiocally put stuff out in front
of our house rather than drag it down
to Goodwill just to see
how long it takes for things to disappear *********
These 5 chairs disappeared in only 2 hours.

Winter is just around the corner

Returning from hot sunny Mexico
this weather takes some adjusting to.
I must admit it felt good to be cold getting off the plane.
I am so over THAT now!

We are headed home this afternoon

After 20 wonderful days here in Mexico we must
pack our sunscreen, mosquito repellant,
damp bathing suits and a laptop full of photos.
Adios Mexico until next November.

Re-wash, Re-use and Re-purpose

We took the old bumpy road to Barra de la Potosi

For a lovely day of bird watching and a delicious lunch

at La Condesa: abalone, guacamole and freshly made tortillas.
The senoras there obviously know all about re-cycling.

I get such a kick out of these black birds-
yesterday I tried to feed one of them some peanuts-
but it refused to come to me-just whistled and tweeted
at me until I relented and tossed one to him/her.
They must be related to crows as they seem quite smart.

There are a lot of these grey squirrels chasing each other
about all the trees-fun to watch while we eat breakfast.

One of the many Catalina Cats

We have been coming to this hotel for over 10 years now.
It is our favorite place in Mexico to relax and play.
We have made many friends here over the years
and look forward each year to renewing those friendships
and making new friends. It's a great place!
