The creative act lasts but a brief moment, a lightning instant of give-and-take, just long enough for you to level the camera and to trap the fleeting prey in your little box.

Discovery of tomato worm means I cannot
blame the chipmunks any more. Nor the birds.
Nor the elf.

Mt Shasta is almost without snow on this side.
Two more months will most likely bring it some snow.

Annual Mt Shasta Police Department Car Show
Four blocks were closed off to allow an
amazing amount of restored old cars.
I found the "Rat Rods" to be the most
interesting cars on display!
Quirky and quick.

Interior of a "Rat Rod" -
note the little fan on the dashboard
Not to mention the stylish '50's seats from the kitchen !

Wetland front yard
Since I first noticed this front yard
in Mt Shasta I was perplexed as to
"why is there so much water"?
I finally found out this weekend.
This house and a few others were
built on top of a wetland years ago.
Now, with all the rain this spring
and summer the houses are surrounded
by water. No one seems to have a solution.
Meanwhile I am fascinated by this front yard.
Here's yet another shot.

Our Chainsaw Bear's New Home
He sits quite happily on our deck facing south.
He can look to his left and see Mt Shasta
(reflected in the window)
or he can look to the right and see Mt Eddy.
He's a happy bear.

The Christmas Season is here.....

We went to Mt Shasta the day after Thanksgiving.

The main street was closed for the annual Christmas Kick-off.

All the stores were decked out and Santa made an appearance.

Happy Holidays!
