The creative act lasts but a brief moment, a lightning instant of give-and-take, just long enough for you to level the camera and to trap the fleeting prey in your little box.

And here's a super simple easy as pie crust recipe!
Ewana's Pie Crust
2 cups unbleached all purpose flour

Cut shortening into flour
until it resembles coarse cornmeal
Quickly mix in cold water with fork.
Shape into a ball. Divide in half. Roll out.
Cut recipe in half for a single crust pie.

Bread and Butter Pickles
It's not rocket science to make these yummy pickles.
Not sure where I got the recipe as it's hand written
inside my cookbook. Enjoy!
Easy Bread and Butter Pickles
Makes 4 to 5 pints
12 mediumsize cucumbers cut into 1/4 " slices
1 1/2 # onions thinly sliced
1/2 cup salt
3 cups vinegar
3 cups sugar
1/4 cup mustard seed
1/2 tsp Tumeric
2 tsp celery seed
~~
In a large glass or stainless steel bowl combine the sliced
cucmbers, onions and salt. Let stand for 3 hours, then pour
into a large colander to drain. Rinse well with water and drain again.
In a 10 quart stainless steel pan combine the vinegar, sugar, tumeric,
mustard seed, celery seed and cayenne pepper. Bring to a boil and\
add the drained cucumbers and onions. Reduce the heat to low and simmer
for just 2 minutes. DO NOT BOIL as the pickles won't be crisp.
Pack pickles in hot sterile jars. Seal in cold water bath for 20 minutes
or if you are at an elevation of over 3000' to 6000'
process for 30 minutes. These can be eaten immediately.
