The creative act lasts but a brief moment, a lightning instant of give-and-take, just long enough for you to level the camera and to trap the fleeting prey in your little box.

No Sun=No Shadow...But we have Chukars!
Besides our community garden spaces at Luscher Farm,
we also have the historic Chicken Coop maintained
by Riccardo Spaccarelli of Riccardo's Ristorante.
In addition to the chickens there are pigeons, pheasants
and chukars. Highly entertaining for all ages of gardeners!

Rudy Luscher is smiling I am sure!

Rosemary is one of my favorites!

I love to cook with rosemary.

I wonder if the blossoms would be

tasty in a peach or apricot jam?

Not Peiking Duck

But a begging duck would be a better name!
This Mallard and his mate have been coming
to our grocery store every spring for at least
5 years. Every morning they tap on the glass
door demanding their duck food with insistant quacks.
Once their eggs have been laid only the male shows up.

Late afternoon in the old orchard

We are now in Los Altos visiting dear friends for a few days. They have lived here for 30 years. The old apricot orchard
is in decline due to gophers and oak root fungus.
However, their citrus orchard is still thriving and has an
amazing vaiety of oranges, tangerines limes and lemons!
Citrus heaven!!!! Fresh juice at an arms length!

Two Year Project Almost Completed

Our sewer had to be replaced and a lot of it

is under the lake. Two years of seasonal draining

enabled this project to be finished and the lake

will be refilled by rain water. Most likely by May 31st!

Check out my Photos #4 , #6 and #42 for earlier

images of the construtction.

What is wrong with this picture?????

Honestly this is hilarious...in trying to

rotate my horizontal photo to verticle

on Tom's computer here in Baker City

I somehow inadvertantly really flipped

this photo into another universe- sorta

like through the Looking Glass.... Just call me Alice.......

and now that I home here's the original image

before I used Lewis G. Carroll's software.....

Flowering Red Currant

A must have for a Pacific Northwest garden.

Native plant, drought resistant and bees and birds

love the blossoms and berries. In addition,

they have a wonderful pine forest fragrance.

Remember when you first planted a seed as a child?

I do.

Radishes

They behave best for kids.

Gestating quickly for impatient young fingers

Wanting to pull up some edible treasure.

I am still that impatient gardner you bet!

Poring over my list of "must have veggies".

Readying my garden plot and now just waiting.

For the sun to warm the earth........

and seeds to give birth.
