The creative act lasts but a brief moment, a lightning instant of give-and-take, just long enough for you to level the camera and to trap the fleeting prey in your little box.

Photo #47

Just another roadside attraction.
While out in the wine country Sunday
I spotted this little gem of a photo op!
Love the parking meter!

That's so cool! I love the look of old cars - so much more style than the typical cars today.

you are so correct! Before we started driving Subarus- I only had purchased used American cars. The last two were a 63 Chevy Impala that I sold in 1985 and a 1965 Ford Falcon that I finally sold in 1989. Meanwhile Russell was driving old English cars. The last two he had were a TR3A that he totally restored before selling in 1999 I think and a 1967? Morris Minor Woody Station wagon with right hand drive. We loved that "Mr Toads Wild Ride" car, but in the weather we have here and not having a really good heated garage, we sold it to a guy who came up from Arizona with a flat bed to take it back. Sad day to wave good by to it. Now we just have one Forester Subaru that we share.

Our old cars were good solid cars but we could see that it would become harder over time to purchase regular gas and maintain them. Russell did all the maintaining of the old cars. Whew- a job in itself.
