The creative act lasts but a brief moment, a lightning instant of give-and-take, just long enough for you to level the camera and to trap the fleeting prey in your little box.

Photo #70

Visual Blight in the Columbia River Gorge

Only time will tell if these windmills provide
enough energy to justify this visual blight.
I used to actually kind of like how these gigantic
windmills looked. Now I think they have cluttered
the landscape and ruined the vistas we once had.
So far a medium sized coal fired electric plant produces more
electricity than all the windmills and solar panels
in the whole USA and that doesn't make much sense.
Sustainable? Not so much.
For more photos etc go to my posting from last year:

Just yesterday I read a post about birds being killed and nesting grounds being disturbed by similar windmills.

Sad, isn't it?

It does take away from the beauty fo the landscape. I know it is even worse in the bay area with thsoe darn wind mills on the farmlands scattering all over the hillsides just like here in Oregon. So sad to see the country side cahnge so.
But You can still see the beauty.
