The creative act lasts but a brief moment, a lightning instant of give-and-take, just long enough for you to level the camera and to trap the fleeting prey in your little box.

But the brushes ARE waiting. Who will pick them up and load them with paint?

I HAD A LITTLE SHADOW
(With apologies to Robert Louis Stevenson)

I had a little shadow
No bigger than my thumb;
I took him to the meadow
And there I gave him rum.

My drunken little shadow
Did weave and bob and pitch;
He stumbled from the meadow
And fell into a ditch!

I think this is a superb shadow shot. there's something very comforting about it. I love the contrast of the dim light inside and the bright light out. with the streak of blue. very nice. happy SSS!
